What is permanent jewellery?

Permanent jewellery, also known as welded jewellery, is a custom designed piece of jewellery measured and perfectly sized to you. The chain is expertly welded creating  permanent nature of the jewellery. It's intended to always be worn, signifying a memory, to commemorate a special occasion or just to treat yourself to a new piece of beautiful custom designed jewellery.

You can choose from Sterling Silver 925, Gold Filled or Solid Gold chains and charms. Custom created by you and welded to last by Studiokate.

Can my permanent jewellery be removed if needed?

Absolutely! Your jewellery can be removed by cutting the chain at the jump ring with a pair of sharp scissors.

We offer a warranty so you can get this welded back on for free, so you are not without your jewellery for longer than you have to be.

Is welding jewellery safe?

Absolutely! The welding machine is skilfully operated by a trained jeweller and is an enjoyable experience for our customers! We are also fully insured.

How do I take care of my permanent jewellery?

Your jewellery can be washed gently with soapy water, please try to avoid contact with harsh chemicals. Your jewellery is made to last however it is not indestructible, please handle it with care and follow the aftercare guide given to you at your appointment.

What is your minimum age?

The jeweller reserves the right to say no if the child is unable to sit still and does not feel it is safe to weld the jewellery.

What is Gold Filled jewellery?

Gold filled jewellery is an excellent choice for those looking for a high-quality piece without the solid gold price tag. It consists of a thick layer of gold, typically 5% of the total weight, mechanically bonded to a base metal. This process creates a durable and long lasting piece that can withstand daily wear. Gold filled offers a beautifully radiant finish that assembles solid gold.

Do you use Gold Plated?

We will never use gold plated jewellery pieces, although it can be visually appealing it is not as durable and the Gold Plating can wear off quickly and lead to tarnishing making it not suitable for permanent jewellery.

We prioritise quality over price which is why we do not offer any gold-plated jewellery so that it can maintain its beauty.

Is the jewellery high quality?

Supplies including chains and charms will only ever be Sterling Silver 925, Gold Filled or Solid Gold to ensure the longevity, beauty and timelessness of our jewellery. We always use trusted, quality suppliers to ensure the quality of our selection. Our suppliers have been tried and tested by the industry for many years so you can trust that the chains and charms you see are of the highest quality.
